Hephzibah's Commentary on Today's News
01/12/2015

1.EFCC probes Special Forces’ training in Belarus, others
Hephzibah: If it is a 'discreet investigation', how come it's public knowledge? I think EFCC should fish out this 'security source' leaking information about 'discreet investigations' to the media. What say ye?

2.Queen Elizabeth, Buhari, 20 govs to attend Ooni’s coronation
Hephzibah: The queen MIGHT be represented so don't hold your breath about seeing the queen in Ife. If Baba can fit it into his schedule, he can stop by in Ife on his way to Sao Tome to grace the occasion. The coronation is on December 7 so if you're in Ife, watch out...

3. Senate raises supplementary budget to N521bn
Hephzibah: Hmmmm. One day, I know God will save us from these subsidy claims sha. I hope it's okay to ask where the additional 108bn Naira will come from since Nigeria is supposedly broke. Please don't respond if your answer will worsen the fuel scarcity. Thanks, lol.

4.Lack of political will hinders corruption cases —CJN
Hephzibah: Erm, how come only the CJN was talking in this 'meeting'? Didn't the Attorney General of the Federation say ANYTHING in this 'meeting'? If so, it was a briefing, not a meeting...Good talk, CJN.

5. Reps suspend Virgin Atlantic probe over litigation
Hephzibah: Hmmm. This life...If I was one of those sacked, I THINK I'll just get another job while the court's indefinite injunction is on. I won't want to work for Virgin Atlantic again if the court's decision is for the sack to be reversed...The compensation may be worth the time spent on litigation, though...

6. Ibeju-Lekki leaders petition Ambode over invasion of villages
Hephzibah: Governor Ambode, please can we know why the New Towns Development Authority is allegedly destroying farmlands and fish ponds of the Ibeju-Lekki folks? Thank you sir.

7. Lagos tackles buildings with inadequate, poor septic tanks
Hephzibah: Good initiative, poor timing (in my opinion). I think the government lacks a moral standing to implement this at this time. A government that is delivering tangible dividends of democracy can do this without criticisms. This government hasn't gained enough moral capital to embark on this for now, in my opinion. I think there are more critical issues to address...

8. Dickson reviews tenure, confident of victory
Hephzibah: Hmmm, watching Bayelsa keenly

9. Firm to build refineries in Lagos, Ondo
Hephzibah: Hmmm, let me go and read more about Greenfield Refinery....

10. Shiroro to get 300 MW Solar Power Plant
Hephzibah: Hmmm. That's cheering news...Watching keenly

11. Private schools battle Lagos council over N100,000 TV permit
Hephzibah: See how Oshodi/Isolo LGA is frustrating legitimate businesses with multiple taxation...

12. Fuludu urges Siasia to work on defence
Hephzibah: "Our team did not play as a unit. They played more as individuals and that really affected their game against the Malians who were more cohesive and confident." Why does that sound like a political party I know? Lol.

I'm still praying for my dear country. I hope you're with me on this?

HOB wishes you a happy new month.

Enjoy your day.
